Live Theatre: The experience, at it's core, is a provocative relationship. The actors take the stage and offer themselves up to the audience. They tell a story, evoke an image, conjure an emotion. The audience reacts, and from this energy emerges a performance that can never again be replicated.

In the depths of the 1930's, Annie is a fiery young orphan girl who must live in a miserable orphanage run by the tyrannical Miss Hannigan. Her seemingly hopeless situation changes dramatically when she is selected to spend a short time at the residence of the wealthy munitions industrialist, Oliver Warbucks. Quickly, she charms the hearts of the household staff and even the seemingly cold-hearted Warbucks cannot help but learn to love this wonderful girl. He decides to help Annie find her long lost parents by offering a reward if they would come to him and prove their identity. However, Miss Hannigan, her evil brother, Rooster, and a female accomplice, plan to impersonate those people to get the reward for themselves, which puts Annie in great danger.

This web site is offered as a resource to theatre goers in Canby, Oregon.  It is not affiliated with or sponsored by the Canby School District.

Canby Middle School Drama productions are committed to providing a drama experience to students that includes acting, choreogd singing.  We believe students benefit from a strong theatre program where singing, dancing and acting are encouraged for all students.  Any student may audition for these shows and are given the benefit of acting, dancing and singing on stage and instruction in choreography and singing.  Middle school drama productions happen twice a year.  Middle school students may audition during the summer for the Canby Community Theatre production.
